CULTURAL EXCURSION: MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN INDIAN

On friday, july 19 , our PDPI team took a cultural excursion to the National Museum of the American Indian, located within the historic Alexander Hamilton U.S. Customs House on the south side of Bowling Green,in lower Manhattan. We were guided by professor Leyla Marinelli.
We learned that the museum was designed by architect Cass Gilbert and was completed in 1907 as a living memorial to native americans and their traditions and explore the diversity of the first inhabitants of the United States of America.
Surely we had a great time there and we saw many sacred objects that represent the American indian cultural patrimony.
